Privacy Policy

What We Collect

• Account: email, username, and profile photo (plus your name and email from Google, Apple, or Facebook if you sign in with them).
• Your profile: the locations you pick for your dreams and your vibe slider settings, used to personalize them.
• Content: the dreams you generate, photos you upload, captions, and comments.
• Face photos: Dream Cast photos and your profile photo (see "Face Photos" below).
• Cast details: when you add someone to your Dream Cast, an AI describes their photo and we store that description with them, including an estimated age, gender, a broad ethnicity category, and features like hair color (see "Face Photos" below).
• Activity: likes, comments, follows, and shares.
• Device & usage: push-notification tokens and basic in-app analytics and crash reports. We don't collect your precise location; our analytics provider (PostHog) estimates your approximate location (city, region, and country) from your IP address.
• Purchases: handled by Apple via RevenueCat. We see the confirmation, never your payment details.

How We Use It

To generate your personalized dreams, run the feed and notifications, enable social features, moderate content for safety, and fix bugs. Analytics (PostHog) and crash reporting (Sentry) are tied to your account to improve the app, but we never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or track you across other apps. Because we don't track you for ads, DreamBot doesn't show Apple's "Ask App Not to Track" prompt.

Face Photos

Some optional features use photos that may show faces: Dream Cast (you and an optional "plus one"), the Create photo option, and your profile photo. We use them only to provide those features: to describe appearance for the art, to face-swap your likeness into dreams, and to show your avatar. We do not perform facial recognition or identify anyone. During a face-swap, our face-swap service briefly computes numerical representations of the faces (face embeddings) only to check that the right person's face was placed in the dream. They are discarded right after that check and are never stored or used for anything else. When you add a Dream Cast photo, an AI (Anthropic) describes it, and we store that description with the cast member, including an estimated age, gender, a broad ethnicity category, and features like hair color, so your dreams show their real likeness. We use these details only to render that person in your dreams, and they are kept until you remove the cast member or delete your account. Dream Cast photos are private to you; your profile photo is public as your avatar. To process them, photos are sent as short-lived links to our AI providers and processing services (Anthropic, Replicate, our face-swap service hosted on Fly.io, and, for Create, Google or OpenAI), who process them under their paid API terms, don't use them to train their models, and delete them quickly. Create photos are used only for that one generation and not stored. Dream Cast photos and your profile photo are kept until you remove them or delete your account. We never sell face data.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted providers to run DreamBot and don't sell your data to any of them: Supabase (database, auth, and storage, hosted on AWS), Replicate, Google, OpenAI, and xAI (image generation and face-swap; xAI receives text prompts only, never photos), Fly.io (hosting for our face-swap service), Anthropic (prompts and photo descriptions), RevenueCat (purchases), PostHog (first-party analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), Google, Apple, and Facebook (optional sign-in), and Expo (push notifications).

Fraud & Abuse Prevention

To keep free trials and promotional offers fair, we use Apple's DeviceCheck to note, at the device level, whether a device has already used a free trial. This relies on an Apple-provided device token and a small flag stored on Apple's servers. We use it only to prevent abuse of trials and offers. We don't use it to track you, and we don't use it for advertising.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all its data anytime from Settings (this is permanent). You can also keep dreams private, block users, and report posts, comments, or users for review.

Children

DreamBot isn't intended for anyone under 17, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
